Objectives
The objectives of the organization are these:
1. To assist in bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all of God’s people on earth.
2. To promote Christian education in the greater Milwaukee area by serving as a catalyst for its development.
3. To provide an organization through which the Elementary School Coordinator of the Wisconsin Lutheran High School Conference may effectively carry out his work. This organization enables him to serve as a communication link between the various state and local agencies, Synodical representatives, and our WELS elementary schools in the Milwaukee area. (Department of Public Instruction, Museum, Library, Health Department, Police Department, Fire Department, etc.)
4. To create some degree of uniformity of practice among our area schools.
5. To offer a forum for problem solving and in-service training of area elementary school administrators. (recognizing the changing role of the elementary principal from one of head or upper grade teacher to one of school administrator responsible for curriculum development, supervision of instruction, and all-around school management and leadership, the organization seeks to aid the principal in gaining some knowledge of responsibilities.)
6. To plan and coordinate area programs such as art fairs, science fairs, forensics festivals, spelling contests, track and field meets, and other interscholastic athletic events.
7. To give the Wisconsin Lutheran High School staff an opportunity to discuss with elementary school principals topics of common interest such as recruitment of students for WLHS, student counseling, common curricular problems, etc.
8. To serve as an effective “sounding board” for any individual or any organization that wishes to seek the opinion of a group of men who are of one mind and purpose.
9. To provide the opportunity for various officials, boards, or agencies both from within Synod or outside of it to give and to receive reports.
10. To assist new principals coming into the area by acquainting them with local opportunities and practices.
